During this time he developed and launched a new high-performance system which was underpinned by the Badminton Ireland Academy system throughout Ireland. His role was to lead the performance programmes for solidarity funded athlete in the four-year cycle to the Olympic Games, this involved developing athlete programmes, facilitating training options, tournament selection and managing relationships with Badminton Africa, National Federations, and National Olympic Committees. The 45-year-old, from Llanbradach, Wales, is the Badminton World Federation’s new vice-president, succeeding João Matos of Portugal.
